Valid name: Nyctalus leisleri (Kuhl, 1817)
Syntypes: ZMB 471 View Materials , skin and skull, male and ZMB 472 View Materials , skull, female; unknown locality; presumably collected by Kuhl; purchased from Kuhl in 1816 .
Comment: According to Simmons (2005: 472) the type locality is Germany, Hessen, Hanau. However, no type locality is mentioned in Kuhl (1817), and Hanau (in Federal State of Hessen, Germany) is the place of publication for the species description .
