Valid name: Falsistrellus mordax ( Peters, 1866)
Holotype: ZMB 2559 View Materials , body in alcohol, skull extracted, female, adult; Java, Indonesia; ex RMNH.
Comment: Peters described this species by a single specimen, obtained from RMNH originally identified as Vespertilio marginatus Temminck.
