Valid name: Nyctophilus geoffroyi Leach, 1821

Syntypes: ZMB 563 [a], skin and skull (extracted) in alcohol, male, adult . ZMB 563 [b], body in alcohol, male, adult. Both specimens from Australia; collected by Richard Schomburgk.

Comment: No reference was made in the original description to the number of specimens examined, however, in the general catalogue ZMB 563 is marked by Peters handwriting with a type asterisk and annotated, that both specimens are originals of the description .
