Rhinolophus yunanensis Dobson, 1872 View in CoL
Dobson, G.E. (1872) On the osteology of some species of bats. Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal, 41 (4): 336 [334–336].
Valid name: Rhinolophus yunanensis Dobson, 1872
Syntype: ZMB 4368 View Materials , skin (missing), skull extracted, male, adult; “Hotha” (= Husa), Yunnan, China; ex ZSI .
Comment: ZMB 4368 View Materials is marked in the general catalogue with a type asterisk. Anderson (1881: 109) listed two adult males of R. pearsonii in alcohol from Hotha, Yunnan, collected in 1868. These two specimens had been used by Dobson (1872) to describe Rhinolophus yunanensis . One of these has obviously been transferred to ZMB later. The second syntype specimen is in the BMNH (1909.4.4.3).
