Encentridophorus (Encentridophorus) sarasini Walter, 1915
Records from the study area: Maharashtra, Karnataka—“ Encentridophorus indicus “ Cook (1967); “ E. indicus “ Prasad (1974).
Remarks: According to Cook (1986) the specimens from India tend to have fewer swimming hairs on III-L-5 (three dorsally, six ventrally) and its possible that, after additional study on the variability of Encentridophorus sarasini , the Indian populations (orginally described as E. indicus Cook 1967 ) may prove to be a different taxon.
Habitat: Ponds and slowly flowing streams.
Distribution: New Caledonia, India, Australia, New Guinea.
