Hygrobates (Monobates) falcipalpis Koenike, 1906
Records from the study area: Bihar—K. Viets (1926a, b); Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala—“ Hygrobates karekari ” Cook (1967); West Bengal—Lundblad (1969); “ H. falcipalpis , H. karekari ” Prasad (1974).
Remarks: According to Cook (1967), Viets's record of Hygrobates falcipalpis from India should be regarded as tentative, because in the species group to which falcipalpis belong females are difficult to identify. Lundblad (1969) synonymized Hygrobates karekari Cook, 1967 with H. falcipalpis .
Habitat: Ponds and slowly flowing streams.
Distribution: India.
