Records from the study area: West Bengal—Lundblad (1969).

Remark: Lundblad (1969) considered Oxus pictus (Daday, 1898) to be synonymous with O. longisetus . However, according to Cook (1967), the long distal setae of Cx-I are not curved in O. pictus .

Habitat: Ponds.

Distribution: Holarctic.
