Type: CHINA. Hua shan near Gniu yu, Giraldi 1725 ( B) .
Distribution: China (Anhui, Gansu, Henan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Shanxi); rare in the wild but widely cultivated in China, Japan, Europe and North America.
