Remarks. This species has been reviewed earlier ( Zelazny, 1981). The additional specimens examined extend the range of this very common and widely distributed species. In general these specimens show the colour variation described earlier. However, additional, unusual colour forms have been noticed which include: a specimen from Truk Isl. without any orange sections on the forewing veins, specimens from North Sulawesi with a bright red mark on the dorsal side of the abdomen, as well as with the last subcostal sector of the forewings broadly lined with red.
