Rhotanella novemmacula Wang, Chou and Yuan, 1993 View in CoL
Rhotanella novemmacula Wang, Chou and Yuan, 1993: 178–180 View in CoL , Fig. 1
Etymology. We consider the species name to be a Latin noun used in apposition; it seems to be combined from novem (= the number nine) and macula (= a spot).
Type material. Holotype ♂ (not examined), CHINA, Mengyang , Yunnan, 7.VI.1991, coll. Wang Yinglun and Cai Manzhi ( EMNAU).
Distribution. southern China.
Diagnosis. Rhotanella novemmacula shows many similarities to R. lautereri Zelazny from the Philippines. It can be recognized by the shape and position of the large dark mark in the 3rd costal cell, by the row of dark spots along the costal margin in the 3rd and 4th costal cells, and by the pointed tip of the male aedeagus.
