In Canada, this common, widespread species has been found in Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Québec. In the United States, I. obliqua was previously recorded from Alabama, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin ( Muona 2000; Otto and Karns 2017).
