Arpactophilus cuspidis Bohart, 1999
( Figs. 43–44 View FIGURES 41 – 46 )
Arpactophilus cuspidis Bohart, 1999: 98 [♀: holotype MNHN].
Diagnosis. Arpactophilus cuspidis is the only New Caledonian species in the genus with the combination of a gena with surface structure (a lateroventral area of carinulae) (similar to pattern in Fig. 14 View FIGURES 10 – 15 ) and a half yellow clypeus. It can also be distinguished from all other species by the combination of its unique form and coloration of the clypeus and the broad yellow mandible ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 41 – 46 ). The apical margin of the clypeus is projecting medially, with a concave incision, forming two prominent teeth.
Material examined. 1♀: “ Nouvelle-Calédonie, Sarraméa Col d’Amieu. Collecté sur: Divers Par battage Le 23/12/05 Par S. Cazeres & C. Mille” [IAC].
