Type species: Acosmetura brevicerca Liu, 2000 .
Diagnosis. Pronotum comparatively short; lateral lobe narrowing posteriorly, humeral sinus absent. Male tegmen covered by pronotum or slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum; female tegmen not overlapping on inner margins; hind wing absent. Post-tibia with three pairs of apical spurs. Male tenth abdominal tergite with a notch in the middle of posterior margin; subgenital plate with styli; genitalia sclerotized and exposed, not surpassing posterior margin of subgenital plate. Ovipositor slightly upcurved, dorsal and ventral margins smooth or apical area of ventral margin with some small teeth.
