The presence of Ixodes affinis has been reported in Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, and south of México in rodents, deer and ocelots ( Barros-Battesti et al. 2006; Benavides et al. 2017b; López and Parra 2017). Future studies are required in order to validate its presence or categorize the sporadic events in Colombia as well as to strengthen the collections.
