1.2.9. Curtonotum stuckenbergi View in CoL species-group
Species included: 7 (Afrotropical; confined to Madagascar).
Synapomorphy: Basiphallus heavily sclerotised, markedly expanded apically and narrowed pre-apically (47). Tsacas (1977) included all species then known from Madagascar in his cuthbertsoni species-group. Seven of the species recorded from the island are regarded as being sufficiently distinct to warrant inclusion in a species-group of their own, as attested by the above-mentioned synapomorphy. A more complete molecular study of the Malagasy Curtonotum fauna is required to ascertain whether this species-group is truly monophyletic.
