Type. [ Indonesia, North Sulawesi]. Holotype male, Minahassa [Minahasa], Coll. P.J. v. d. Bergh Lzn., no further data (NBC).

Diagnosis. Forewings above lighter than in V. cyclopsensis , with medial projecting tooth slightly sharper apically than in V. sordidata (Moore) , V. robinsoni (Prout) and V. hollowayi Schmidt. In the male genitalia, uncus similar to V. sordidata but slightly broader, valvae longer than in V. robinsoni and V. sordidata , saccus similar to V. sordidata but slightly broader, and scobination in aedeagal vesica more distinct than in V. sordidata , V. robinsoni and V. hollowayi.

Description. Labial palpi dark brown, with pale ochreous scales at the apex. Legs pale brown, without distinct rings of lighter scales. Wing expanse 33 mm (n = 1). Forewings above ochreous to brown, with median band distinct, brown, with some ochreous scales, edged with a thin, wavy, partly broken whitish line, with a small medial projecting tooth outwards and a rounded prominence towards the costal margin, with a very short, rounded posterior projecting tooth, with basal band ochreous-brown, with a slightly broadened, dark brown discal dot, underneath ochreous-brown to brown, patterned like forewings but without wavy, partly broken whitish line. Hind wings above brown with pale brown scales at base, with indistinct, wavy, alternative, brown and pale brown lines in the basal half, with whitish, wavy medial line forming a medial projecting tooth outwards and a shallow rounded prominence towards the costal margin, with an oval brown discal dot, underneath coloured and patterned similar to forewings ( Figs 2 View FIGURES 1–2 , 4 View FIGURES 3–4 ). Male genitalia ( Figs 7, 8 View FIGURES5–8 ). Uncus very small, rather flat, triangular, fused with tegumen; tegumen broad, hemispherical, with long, slightly curved arms of gnathos protruded to the base of juxta; valvae relatively long, with costa broad, sclerotised, slightly twisted, with distinct, lobe-shaped projecting apical process and subapical rounded projection, with basal arm projected towards juxta; saccus massive, elongated and rounded apically; juxta with small lateral papillae; aedeagus curved, with anellus covered with spines, without cornuti but with a distinct, very broad patch of scobination in vesica. Female unknown.
