Thanasimus acerbus Newman, 1842: 364 ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13 – 25 ).
Thanasimus cursorius Westwood, 1853: 53 syn. n. ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13 – 25 ). Stigmatium dispar Kuwert, 1894: 405 syn. n. ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 13 – 25 ).
Material examined. Thanasimus acerbus Newman : LECTOTYPE (here designated): Red-ringed BMNH 'Type' label / Thanasimus acerbus Newm. ( BMNH). Thanasimus cursorius Westwood : LECTOTYPE (here designated): Type No. 1655 (1/2) ( OUM). PARALECTOTYPE (here designated): Type No. 1655 (2/2) ( OUM). Stigmatium dispar Kuwert : LECTOTYPE (here designated): TYPE / ex Musaeo A Kuwert ( MNHN).
Remarks. No obvious differences were observed between the type specimens of Stigmatium acerbum (Newman) and S. cursorius (Westwood) . The Stigmatium dispar (Kuwert) type is paler than the aforementioned types and covered in waxy debris though appears to represent the same species.
