Stigmatium varipes Chevrolat, 1876: 26 ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 13 – 25 ).
Stigmatium versipelle Gorham, 1876 , 101 syn. n. ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 13 – 25 ).
Xestonotus (Cyclotomocerus) australicus Kuwert, 1894: 435 syn. n. ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 13 – 25 ).
Material examined. Stigmatium varipes Chevrolat : LECTOTYPE (here designated): Rockhampton / Coll Chevr / Sedillot ( MNHN). Stigmatium versipelle Gorham : LECTOTYPE (here designated): TYPE / Coll. Gorham ( MNHN). Xestonotus (Cyclotomocerus) australicus Kuwert : LECTOTYPE (here designated): Australia / Type Kuwert / Cyclotomocerus australicus Kuw. Ex Musaeo W. Rothschild 1899 / Museum Paris ex Coll. Oberthur ( MNHN).
Remarks. Similarities between the type specimens of the three abovementioned taxa suggest that they represent the same species. Priority must go to S. varipes Chevrolat because the description of that taxon was published on March 15th, 1876, while that of S. versipelle Gorham was published on August 7th, 1876.
