Distribution. France ( Corse), Croatia, Serbia, Ukraine, South European Russia, Asian Turkey, Iran, Morocco ( Knížek 2011b; Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2017, 2023); reported by Stark (1952) from Transcaucasia without country data. Armenia: reported (as Phloeophthorus ) by Arnoldi et al. (1955) and by Iablokoff-Khnzorian (1976) without distribution data.
Hosts. Fagus orientalis .
Note. Described as Hylesinus from “ Iberia [= Georgia] et Armenia ” (Kolentai, 1846, p. 39), but neither Georgia nor Armenia are mentioned in the Catalogues.
