Distribution. Great Britain, West Europe from Portugal, Spain, France to Scandinavian and Baltic countries, Belarus, Ukraine, European Russia, Cyprus, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, Russian Far East, China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan; introduced to Nearctic Region ( Knížek 2011b; Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2017, 2023); as Blastophagus reported by Stark (1952) and by Arnoldi et al. (1955) from Caucasus and as Tomicus by Nikitsky & Izhevsky (2005) also from Transcaucasia without country data. Armenia: also as Blastophagus reported by Mirzoian (1951) from Lori (Stepanavan) and Tavush (Dilijan, Ijevan) Provinces, and by S. Iablokoff-Khnzorian (1976) and S. Mirzoian (1977) from all pine forests of the same Provinces.
