Panus roseus is characterized by a relatively small basidiome, with coriaceous, deeply cyathiform, pink-coloured pileus, dimitic hyphal system, with thick-walled unbranched skeletal hyphae, presence of clavate, cheilocystidia and metuloids, and ellipsoid to elongate basidiospores ( Karunarathna et al. 2011).
