Fig.12 View FIGURE 12
Mimotettix spinosus Li and Xing, 2010: 421 View in CoL , figs 1a–g
Material examined. 23, China: Yunnan, Menglun, 19 May 1991, Wang Yinglun and Tian Rungang; 13, Yunnan, Mengla, Yaoqu, 600, 11 May 1991, Liu Guangchun and Cai Wangzhi; 13, Shaanxi, Taibaishan, Haopingsi, 1200m, 18 Oct. 1982 (all in NWAFU).
Other material. An additional male specimen has been seen from the Malay Peninsular, Cameron Highlands, 4800’ ( BMNH).
Description. Body length (including tegmen): 3, 5.2 – 5.4mm.
Male genitalia: Pygophore moderately long, ventroposterior margin with an internal moderately long process curved anterodorsally. Connective stem slightly longer than arms. Aedeagal shaft very broad in lateral view, with a triangular flange at midlength on each side of dorsal surfaces; apical process slightly more than 2/ 3 length of shaft.
Diagnosis. This species is similar to Mimotettix lateralis but can be distinguished from the latter by its internal pygophore processes and more robust aedeagal shaft.
Remarks. The original figure of the male pygophore shows the posterior process extended beyond the pygophore margin rather rather than recurved internally as in out specimen.
Distribution. China (Yunnan, Shaanxi, Guizhou), Malaysia ( Fig.17 View FIGURE 17 ).
