Cheumatopsyche ningmapa Schmid 1975 View in CoL
( Figs. 24–28 View FIGURES24–28 )
Cheumatopsyche ningmapa Schmid 1975 View in CoL , 80, figs. 4–5; holotype male, Samchi, Bhutan, deposition Naturhistorisches Museum , Basel, Switzerland .
Material examined. 3 Males, India: Himachal Pradesh; Bhaksunag , 1900 m, 25-v-2008, Pandher & Parey ( NPC).
Diagnosis. The male genitalia of Cheumatopsyche ningmapa are very similar to Ch. carmentis Malicky & Chantaramongkol 1997 and Ch. Charites Malicky & Chantaramongkol 1997 (both in Malicky 1997), both reported from Thailand. However, Ch. ningmapa is distinct as its apicoventral setal lobes are pointed apically in dorsal view whereas the apicoventral setal lobes are rounded in all similar species.
Description. Adult male; color in alcohol brown, legs and maxillary palps pale, forewings hyaline with irregular reticulate pattern. Length from tip of head to apices of folded forewings about 7 mm; maxillary palps each about 1.75 mm long, segment II longer than III, V sub-equal to segments I–IV together; labial palps each 0.50 mm long. Length of each forewing about 6 mm; venation typical for genus; crossveins m-cu and cu almost meeting in oblique line, Cu2 and 1A running independently to wing margin. Hind wings each about 4 mm long; fork I absent; Sc and R meeting slightly distal of crossvein r; crossvein s located apically to crossvein r.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 24–28 View FIGURES24–28 ). Abdominal segment IX annular, dorsal region smaller than ventral region; anterolateral margins convex, oblique and nearly straight dorsally in lateral view; apical lobe on each posterolateral margin blunt, right angled, located immediately above membranous articulation cavity of inferior appendage. Spine row on posterior margin of segment IX intermittent, heterogeneous; apicolateral corners of tergum IX protruding posterad into rounded projections surrounding deep, wide, concave indentation. Intersegmental depression between segments IX and X pronounced, deep. Segment X long, tall, slightly curved dorsad in lateral view with small projecting apicoventral setal lobes and smooth mesocaudal lobe and minute triangular tooth on dorsum visible preapically in lateral view; segment X quadrangular in dorsal view, with small apicoventral setal lobes angled mesad, smooth mesocaudal lobe short and broad so that apex scarcely trilobed in dorsal view, dorsal interlobular gap longitudinally short and wide, pair of lateral setal areas (superior or preanal appendages) forming small elevated warts at bases of apicoventral setal lobes. Inferior appendages each longer than segment X, coxopodite (basal segment) slightly curved distad near middle in lateral view, dilated and curved mesad preapically in ventral view; harpago (apical segment) broad at base, narrowing towards claw-like apex hooked mesad in ventral view. Phallus with phallotheca nearly straight and with relatively straight dorsum; endophallus long, running through entire phallotheca, ending in narrow tube at gonopore; pair of sclerotized endothecal processes ovoid and downwardly curving; phallotremal sclerites rod shaped in lateral view; vestigial, membranous, ventral endothecal lobes weakly developed.
Distribution. India: Himachal Pradesh. Bhutan, Nepal.
