Remarks. 1. Barsine pseudomactans was described based on a small amount of material having small external and genital differences from specimens originating from the same part of Himalaya as the holotype of B. pretiosa . Further examination of more than four hundreds additional specimens from various areas of India, Nepal, Myanmar and China displayed a rather wide range of its infraspecific variability. This fact makes obvious a conspecificity of pseudomactans and pretiosa . Thus, here we establish the new synonymy: Barsine pretiosa Moore, 1879 = Barsine pseudomactans Volynkin & Černý 2016 , syn. nov. 2. Huang et al. (2018) wrongly identified Barsine fangchenglaiae sp. nov. as B. pseudomactans and reported B. pseudomactans as a new record from China. Here we illustrate the true B. pretiosa from China for the first time. The external appearance of Chinese populations varies from a normal form similar to Himalayan populations ( Figs 17–18 View FIGURES 9–20 , 23 View FIGURES 21–30 ) to an extreme melanistic form (fig. 19), displaying a wider range of variability than Himalayan populations, but the examination of male genitalia proves they all belong to the same species. The species is also here recorded from Myanmar and Pakistan for the first time. The differences between B. pretiosa and B. fangchenglaiae sp. nov. have already been listed in the description of the new species.

Distribution. China * (W Sichuan, NW and C Yunnan, SE Xizang), Myanmar * (Kachin State), Nepal ( Volynkin & Černý, 2016c), Bhutan ( Volynkin & Černý, 2016c), N and NE India ( Volynkin & Černý, 2016c), NE Pakistan * (Punjab).
