NANOTRACHIA ORIENTALIS ( SOLEM, 1984) View in CoL

Mouldingia orientalis Solem, 1984: 644–647 View in CoL , pl. 53, figures 163d–f, 165.

Material examined: Table 1.

Diagnosis

Shell ( Fig. 4F View Figure 4 ): Average in size; periphery shouldered, strongly keeled; spire weakly elevated; umbilicus open, wide, not concealed by columellar reflection; protoconch and teleoconch with dense, pointed periostracal projections and fine axial growth lines; teleoconch with prominent blade-shaped, irregular, widely spaced axial ribs; apertural lip reflected, moderately expanded; brown.

Genitalia: Refer to Solem (1984: 647).

Comparative remarks

Shell differing from other congeners by bladeshaped axial ribs. Penial wall differing from

other congeners by more numerous and narrower pilasters.

Taxonomic remarks

Originally assigned to Mouldingia by Solem (1984) for its shell being extremely similar with the type species, M. occidentalis ( Fig. 4G View Figure 4 ), from which it can only be distinguished by parietal lip being attached to callus.
