Description. Adult ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 6 − 13 ) with wingspan 8.5−10.5 mm.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 18 − 21 ). Tegumen triangular, sclerotized laterally. Tuba analis exceeding tegumen by 3/4 its length. Vinculum inverted trapezoidal, more than 1/3 height of tegumen, concave postero-medially, anterior margin extending to middle of saccus, slightly concave inwards at anterior 1/3 laterally, with lateral angles bluntly rounded; saccus shorter than height of vinculum. Valva heavily sclerotized, apex bluntly rounded; basal half narrow, dorsal and ventral margins nearly parallel; distal half widened, dorsal margin semicircularly arched, densely haired, ventral margin protruded triangularly, with a sharp ventro-apical denticle. Aedeagus longer than valva, with strong apical spines; cornutus a tube, less than 1/2 length of anellus. Anellus sclerotized, cylindrical, more than 1/3 length of aedeagus, with two patches of setae subapically.

Variations. The posterior apophysis of this species has two morphological forms: one Z-shaped distally from Zhejiang Province, another straight distally from Jiangsu Province ( Diakonoff 1986). The latter form is consistent with the holotype collected from Zhejiang as figured in Clarke (1969). Our specimens from Fujian and Jiangxi Province well match the holotype ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 24 − 25 ).

Diagnosis. This species belongs to the okui -group according to Heppner (1992). It can be easily separated from the members of this species-group by the heavily sclerotized valva and the sharp ventro-apical denticle on valva.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Zhejiang).

Remarks. The discovery of the male of G. rhinoceropa raises problems on the group assignment of this species. It seems a good choice to assign G. rhiniceropa to okui -group according to superficial features. However, the male genitalia are against the current assignment and find their congeners in the gemmula and the bergstraesserella groups by having a ventro-apical denticle on the valva or by the shape of the valva. So the assignment of this species needs further study.
