Material examined. USA, Ohio: Delaware County, tributary to Big Run Tributary , 1 pre-pupal exuviae, 1.vi.2005, M.J. Bolton ; Delaware County, Olentangy River at Williams Road , 1 larval exuviae, 13.ix.2006, M.J. Bolton; Highland County, northern fork of White Oak Creek at Sicily Road, 3 larval exuviae, 21.viii.2006, M.J. Bolton ( MJB) .
Diagnostic characters. The larvae are separable by having the mentum with two median teeth, and smaller lateral tooth adjacent to median tooth; basal antennal segment yellowish, other segments dark brown; length of antenna/length of head 1.47–1.50, 1.48, long posterior shagreen on abdominal tergites II–VIII in prepupa.
Larva (n = 3)
Coloration. Head brown. Antenna with basal segment yellowish, other segments dark brown. Abdomen yellowish.
Head. Capsule length 172–182, 178 µm, width 132–140, 136 µm. Postmentum 152–170, 161 µm long. SII obvious, rising from small tubercle, SI and SIII not visible. Premandible 20–25, 22 µm long. Mentum as in Fig. 25 A. Mandibles 30–36, 33 µm long. Antenna as in Fig. 25 C, AR 0.73–0.78, 0.75. Lengths of flagellomeres I– IV (in µm): 107–119, 112; 69–73, 72; 73–76, 75; 3–5, 4. Basal segment width 18–24, 22 µm; length of blade at apex of basal segment 23–24 µm. Length of antenna/length of head 1.47–1.50, 1.48.
Abdomen. Length of anal setae 141–162, 150 µm. Procercus 10–12, 11 µm long, 8–12, 10 µm wide. Subbasal setae of posterior parapods split as in Fig. 25 B, 36–40, 39 µm long. Posterior parapods 121–131, 126 µm long.
