This species was described from Sturnus vulgaris Linnaeus ( Passeriformes : Sturnidae ) from Kirghizia ( Chirov & Kravtsova 1995). Later on, it was recorded from Turdus pilaris (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Turdidae ) from Russia ( Bochkov & Mironov 1998), Turdus merula Linnaeus from Jordan ( Glowska et al. 2007), Turdus migratorius Linnaeus and Cyanocitta stelleri (Gmelin) (Corvidae) from the USA ( Skoracki et al. 2008). In Kazakhstan, this species was recorded from Turdus merula and Turdus atrogularis Jarocki.
Material examined. 8 females and 1 male ( AVB 07-1710 - 001 ) from Turdus merula Linnaeus (Passseriformes: Turdidae ); KAZAKHSTAN: Ongtustik Qazaqstan , Chockpak Ornithological Station, 1134m, 42°30'45.2''N, 70°35'46.2''E, 17 October 2007, coll. A. Bochkov.
