Remarks. This species is new to Europe. Piskunov (1987) erroneously considered Neofriseria mongolinella Piskunov, 1987 as a junior synonym of N. sceptrophora (Meyrick, 1926) from Turkey and Afghanistan, regarding it a subspecies of the latter. There are, however, clear differences in the wing pattern and genitalia between the two species.
