( Figs. 32–35 View FIGURES 28–35 )

Current status: Triatoma maculata ( Erichson, 1848) ; combination proposed by Neiva (1914: 47).

SYNTYPE male ( Figs. 32–34 View FIGURES 28–35 ) with labels ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 28–35 ): “Type” [red, pr] // “ maculatus Er. / Stoll. f. 140./ Brit. Guy. Schomb.” [blue, hw] // “2922” [pr]

SYNTYPE female with labels: “Allo- [hw] / Typus” [red, pr] // “ Brit Guyana / Schomburgk ” [green, hw] // “ Conorhinus ♀ / maculatus Er. / Allotypus ” [hw] // “2922” [hw]

Remarks. This species was first illustrated by Stoll (1782: 82, fig. 140), without providing an available name. The name C. maculatus was proposed for the same species by Erichson (1848), with indication to Stoll’s figure, but with a correction to his description, therefore it was evidently based on the study of actual specimen(s). The above specimens are recognized as the material upon which Erichson’s name was based.
