Publishedrecords , aswellascollectionspecimens (seeAppendix 1) are scarce. Thespecies, usuallyassociatedwithseashoredebris, islikelysuffering theoverdevelopmentoftheMediterraneanSpanishcoast. Theeffectoftour- ismisspeciallystrongalongbeaches, sincemostofthesandsurfaceisbeing constantly “cleaned” bymachinesalloverthetouristseason, fromspringto fall. Probablyasaconsequenceofthesepractises, theonlyrecentrecordsof thespeciesintheMediterraneancoastcorrespondtoapopulationfoundun- derdryingmassesof Posidonia K. Koenig View in CoL , locatedoverthetidezoneonsandy soilinCabodePalos (Murcia) (M. Calvopers. com., July 2014). Thespecies istodayrelativelycommoninnorthernAfricancoastalareas ( Ceuta: Playa Benítez: 8-VI-2011, J.L. Ruiz & M.G. -París; Ceuta: SanAmaro: 7-III-2012, J. L. Ruiz), CanaryIslands (LaPalma: PlayaNueva: 22-X-2010, M.G. -París), and Madeira (PortodaCruz: 23-II-2013, N. Percino & M.G. -París; PontaDelgada: 1-III-2013 N. Percino & M.G. - París) .
