Alcyonium View in CoL sp. 2
Material examined: BBB 2016: St 13.
Distribution: Between Tierra del Fuego and Burdwood bank, NDR (610 m).
Remarks: colony bi-lobate, with polyps in conspicuous calyces and well developed anthocodial armature. Spindles from body wall resemble those on A. haddoni and A. yepayek , but A. haddoni lacks clubs in the inner layer and most clubs in A. yapayek have a central wart ( Ofwegen et al. 2007). SEM analysis will allow us to cofirm if Alcyonium sp. 2 is, in fact, a new species.
