Parnassia mysorensis Heyne ex Wight & Arnott (1834: 35)

= Parnassia affinis Hooker & Thomson (1858: 81)

Notes: Two gatherings, Wallich Cat. n. 3754 and Heyne s.n., were indicated in the protologue of Parnassia mysorensis . Four duplicates of Wallich Cat. n. 3754 were located. Most of Wight’s type specimens were conserved in K, so we selected K 001119945 as the lectotype. One collection was given when P. affinis was published in 1858, but Ku & Hultgard (2001) stated that the original material was heterogeneous. Two syntypes specimens were traced from K and C, and all individuals were found to be the same, which means that there could be a mixed syntype specimen that we have not yet found. Therefore, we decided that it is better to lectotypify P. affinis when the genus was reviewed. Parnassia maisorensis was an erroneous citation by Hume (1873) for P. mysorensis , because he referred to Heyne.
