Diagnosis. Gynapteromyia temburong is another Gynapteromyia with furcate translucent sensilla (↓) on

flagellomeres (Fig. A) and palpi (Fig. B), but the sensilla are much larger in this species than in G. f u rc a t a (see above). Male genitalic characters specific to G. temburong are as follows (Fig. A). The tegmen, which is only slightly tapered towards the apex, has a membranous, slightly bilobed outgrowth ventroapically (↓), a structure not known from other Gynapteromyia . Of the gonocoxites, the medial bridges have virtually no protrusions and the ventral emargination is conspicuously narrow. Females of G. temburong are unknown.

Other male characters. Body length 1.3 mm. Head. Genal setae 4. Eye bridge with 0–1 ommatidium dorsally. Scape with 4 setae. Maximally 10 flagellomeres retained. Neck of fourth flagellomere (Fig. A) 1.5 times longer than node; node subglobose, with only a few sensory hairs with hooded alveoli ventrally, basal setae longer than individual flagellomere, 2 large furcate sensilla each with up to 4 tines, microtrichia only basally. Palpus (Fig. B) single-segmented, setae very sparse, translucent sensilla numerous, with 2–4 tines. Wing length / width 2.7. Membrane setose except for a stripe below proximal portion of R5 and btv. Vein btv setose. CuA fading out before wing margin. Legs with narrow scales in addition to setae. Most tarsi and all acropods lost. Genitalia (Fig. C). Gonocoxae: ventral emargination deep; ventral bridge unsetose, with indistinct transverse suture; anterior processes of apodemes as long as distance separating them. Gonostylus twice as long as wide, slightly bent, slightly tapered towards apex, apical tooth slender. Parameral apodemes small. Ejaculatory apodeme thin.

Etymology. The name refers to the species’ type locality, Ulu Temburong National Park in Brunei.

Type material. Holotype. Male, Brunei, Ulu Temburong National Park, Kuala Belalong Field Studies Centre, 26 Jan.–15 Feb. 2015, lowland mixed dipterocarp forest, Malaise trap (D afternoon), D. Kaspřák & M. Mantič (in UBDC).
