Johnsonomyia fusca View in CoL — Felt 1908: 417 (in key); Parnell 1971: 283, figs 8–12. Haplusia fusca —Gagné 1985: 518.

This is a typical member of the genus Johnsonomyia View in CoL , with the exception that the tegmen has prominent, moderately sclerotized edges apicolaterally ( Parnell 1971: fig. 8), not unlike those found in many Gynapteromyia View in CoL and some Haplusia View in CoL . I have seen an unnamed Johnsonomyia View in CoL from Costa Rica with a similar tegmen, but there it is completely membranous, which is another unusual condition for this genus. The tarsi of J. fusca are lighter than the more proximal leg segments.

Material examined. Holotype male, with the data as specified by Parnell (1971).
