BRASACYPRIS Krömmelbein, 1965

Type Species: Brasacypris ovum Krömmelbein, 1965

Diagnosis: Carapace large (about 1.2mm carapace length), thick-shelled. Lateral outline egg-shaped; dorsal outline broadly biconvex. Both cardinal angles marked, yet rounded. Dorsal margin straight, inclined fairly steeply towards the posterior. Ventral margin convex. Left valve larger than right valve; left valve protrudes beyond the right valve on all sides, very clearly, and partly overlapping along the ventral margin and the lower section of the anterior and posterior margins. Carapace surface smooth. (Internal carapace features not known. Presumably a genus of Cyprididae of as yet unknown subfamily attribution).
