Cephennula multicarinata View in CoL species group
Nine species―four known previously and five newly described below―have the aedeagi relatively slender, approximately bottle-shaped, with broad apical part, with lightly sclerotized and usually indistinct endophallus ( Figs. 25–32 View FIGURES 25 – 32 ). The aedeagi of these species, although similar to each other and clearly different from those characteristic of the minuta group, are relatively diverse; also the antennal club in some species is compact and strongly flattened while in others loose and nearly cylindrical. It is possible that this group is heterogeneous or not monophyletic. Further study is required to clarify this problem, including possible descriptions of new species and a rigorous phylogenetic analysis. Until then, C. multicarinata , C. secunda , C. scaphisoma , C. porcata , C. titiwangsana sp. n., C. medioglabra sp. n., C. sibugana sp. n., C. gombakiana sp. n. and C. micropunctata sp. n. are preliminarily grouped together in the multicarinata species group.
