Type material: Lectotype ♂, by designation of Zanden (1985), “Meknès” ( Morocco), Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle Paris.
New records. MOROCCO: El-Menzel, 30 km E Sefrou, 29.5.1995. SPAIN, Andalucia: Jaen, Cambil, 23.6.1988 ( Zanden, 1996, as H. lysholmi ); Palomas, Sierra Cazorla, 17.6.2003.
Distribution. Southern Spain, Morocco.
Pollen hosts. Possibly oligolectic on Lamiaceae with a distinct or even exclusive preference for Teucrium : all 8 pollen loads (2 localities, 1 country) analyzed so far contained Teucrium pollen, and several females and males of H. teucrii were observed on Teucrium resupinatum ( Benoist, 1927) .
Nesting biology. Unknown.
