similis James, 1933: 99 View in CoL . Proisotoma .
Syntypes: 1 (slide) Canada. Ont[ario], Belleville, [in moss on the rock ledges of the Moira River], 18.v.1933, H.G. James. (CNC 165051, Type No. 3716); 2 (alcohol), same collection as above except 24.v.1931 (CNC 358527, Type No. 3716).
This species was recorded as Cryptopygus similis (James, 1933) by Christiansen & Bellinger (1980–1981: 620) and Skidmore (1995: 55). It should probably be treated as a member of the genus Hemisotoma Bagnall, 1949 . Modern generic affiliation is uncertain and needs additional study (M. Potapov, personal communication).
