NOTES. This is one of the most common species of tiger beetles widely distributed in southeastern Asia, both in the mainland from India and Nepal to Vietnam and China, and on the main archipelagos like Sunda Islands, Philippines and New Guinea (Wiesner, 1992). In
Vietnam, it is known to occur in all main regions except South Central Coast and Mekong
Delta (Wiesner et al., 2017). Nonetheless, C. viduata is being recorded from Bac Giang province (Northeast region) for the first time.
