Type species — Acanthocinus linearis Skinner, 1905 View in CoL (original designation).

Diagnosis. Antennae almost twice body length in male, about 1.5 times body length in female; lateral tubercles of the prothorax placed after middle; elytra with centrobasal crest pilose, with four slightly elevated carinae; basal metatarsomere distinctly longer than II and III together. Number of species currently included: 1 ( Mexico).
