36. Rubus affinis × noli-tangere View in CoL ?

A plant from Nature’s Valley ( Figs 28A–D View FIGURE 28 ) is probably a hybrid of R. affinis with R. noli-tangere . It has the same leaves as R. noli-tangere , and extremely long declining or slightly curved prickles, an open pyramidal inflorescence that is as densely hairy as in R. noli-tangere , and sterile flowers. A specimen collected at Plettenberg Bay might be the same taxon.

Specimens:— SOUTH AFRICA. Western Cape: 10 km from Plettenberg Bay, 13 November 1986, Stirton & Zantovska 11595 ( NBG); Nature’s Valley , 4 March 2009, Beek 2009.11 ( L) .
