Bionomics. The species is univoltine throughout its range. Flight period autumn, in Iran from October to November. Inhabits high altitudes of mountain ranges from 6500 to 8000 feet m. The food plants are wild Amygdalus spp . ( A. eburnea , A. horrida ), Prunus spp ., Crataegus spp ., Armeniaca sp. (all Rosaceae ); the holotype from Fars was "bred from larvae found feeding on wild almond and Crataegus on 7000–8000 ft (2134–2438 m)." Larvae feed in April and May. Rajabi (1986) recorded Prunus , Amygdalus , Crataegus as host plants in Iran. Pupation in the soil in fest cocoon. Eggs hibernate under scale cover.

Bionomics. The species is univoltine throughout its range. Flight period autumn, in Iran from late August to November. Inhabits high altitudes of mountain ranges and is known from up to 1700 m. The species is associated in Iran with: Quercus brantii Lindl. in the high altitudes of Zagros Mts., from Kordestan to Kazerun ( Fars); Q. brantii brantii var. brantii in the lower altitudes of the Zagros Mts. from Kordestan to Fars, to 220 m; and Q. infectoria Oliv. from Lorestan and Kordestan. Rajabi (1986) and Modarres Awal (1994 & 1997) recorded Amygdalus as “almond” as the host plant in Iran, probably as a misidentification of Eriogaster philippsi . Pupation in the soil in fest cocoon. Eggs hibernate under scale cover. The species is first noted here from Iran, the south- and easternmost point of its distribution.
