Genus Apomatus Philippi, 1844 View in CoL
Apomatus ampulliferus Philippi, 1844
DISTRIBUTION: NA, CA, SA.
LITERATURE RECORDS: Matjašić & Štirn 1975; Požar-Domac 1994; Castelli et al. 2008. REMARKS: There are four species of the complex Protula / Apomatus present in the Adriatic Sea: Apomatus ampulliferus Philippi, 1844 , A. similis Marion & Bobretzky, 1875 , Protula tubularia (Montagu, 1803) , and P. intestinum ( Lamarck, 1818) . The distinction between them is difficult and the previous records of one species may actually refer to one of the other three. Thus, the information on the distribution of these species in the present list is uncertain.
Apomatus similis Marion & Bobretzky, 1875 DISTRIBUTION: NA, CA, SA.
LITERATURE RECORDS: Castelli et al. 2008. REMARKS: See Remarks under Apomatus ampulliferus .
