Diagnosis. Close to T. guane n. sp., from which it differs in having the marginal pigmented band of the forewing wider, in having the areola postica narrower ( Fig. 224 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ), and in having the IX sternum broader posteriorly, with the anterior, transverse pigmented band wider ( Fig. 228 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ).

Color (in 80% ethanol). Body pale brown, with dark and light areas. Compound eyes dark brown; ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Head with pale brown and ochre spots ( Fig. 226 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ). Central area of postclypeus with a dark brown V-shaped area, extended to the inner margin of the compound eyes. Genae brown, postgenae cream. Antennae: scape brown, pedicel and flagella pale brown, with apices of flagellomeres cream; maxillary palps pale brown, Mx4 dark brown distally. Tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax pale brown. Prothoracic pleura cream with brown spots. Mesepisternum and mesepimeron dark brown, with creamy spots; metepisternum cream with brown spots, metepimeron brown, with cream spots. Legs pale brown, coxae with brown spots proximally and distally. Forewing with wide marginal brown band, from R2+3 to A1. Hindwings almost hyaline, with distal pale brown spot, and pale brown spot distally on M, at wing margin. Abdomen creamy, with large subcuticular areas brown. Subgenital plate hyaline in the middle, with pigmented area U-shaped. Gonapophyses brown. IX sternum pale brown, with dark brown transverse anterior band. Epiproct and paraprocts pale brown, with brown subcuticular areas.

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 226 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ): H/MxW: 1.42, compound eyes: H/D: 2.99, IO/MxW: 0.81, MxW/IO: 1.79. Vertex slightly rounded and emarginate in the middle, slightly above the level of the compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with eight denticles. Mx4/Mx2: 1.08: Mx4/Mx3: 2.46. Forewings ( Fig. 224 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ): L/W: 2.60. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 6.25, with abundant setae; areola postica: la/ha: 1.69. Hindwings ( Fig. 225 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ): l/w: 2.73. Subgenital plate wide, posteriorly rounded, with dense field of setae. Gonapophyses ( Fig. 228 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ): v1 elongate, slender, acuminate; v2 +3 with slender proximal heel, a row of five macrosetae on v2; distal process acuminate, with microsetae. IX sternum ( Fig. 228 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ). Paraprocts ( Fig. 229 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ) triangular, with setal field as illustrated; sensory fields with 32 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 229 View FIGURES 224 – 229 ) triangular, wide based, rounded posteriorly, setae as illustrated.

Etymology. This species is dedicated, in memoriam, to Mrs. Matilda Buch, who died in defense of the Meremberg Nature Reserve.
