Genus 28. Promecidia Lelej, 1996
Diagnosis. FEMALE. The following combination of characters separates Promecidia from other Oriental mutillid genera: the scutellar scale is absent; the T2 disc has two laterally situated setal spots; and T6 lacks a defined pygidium. Other diagnostic features are listed by Lelej et al. (2016). MALE. See Lelej et al. (2016).
Diversity and Distribution. Eleven species are recognized in the eastern Oriental region ( Lelej et al. 2016).
Remarks. This genus was recently revised by Lelej et al. (2016). It is the only Oriental genus of Trogaspidiini to completely lack a scutellar scale but can be difficult to separate from Orientidia species with a small scale, like O. thoawanae , sp. nov.
