Enicospilus unicallosus (Vollenhoven, 1878) View in CoL
Ophion unicallosus (Vollenhoven, 1878) : 167. Pl. 10, Fig. 4, 4a View FIGURE 4 , type lost.
Ophion pseudophiae Kohl, 1905 , holotype ♀ in NMHW, not examined
Enicospilus grandiflavus Townes & Townes, 1973 View in CoL , 177 (replacement name for E. grandis Morley, 1912 View in CoL ) syn. nov. holotype ♀ from Zimbabwe in NHMUK, examined.
Material examined: IRAN: 1♀, Kerman Province, 25 km E. of Jiroft (Mijan), 28˚42"N, 57˚57"E, 27 May 2014, Mi. Halada leg., ( OÖLM) .
Remarks: A very large and distinct species with coarse irregular transverse ridges covering propodeum. Depicted by Amiri et al. 2016, as E. ahngeri ( Figs 1A–C View FIGURE 1 in that paper). I have studied the type of Henicospilus grandis Morley, 1912 , collected in Northern Zimbabwe and it the specimen is conspecific with the species here presented. The type of Enicospilus unicallosus cannot be located in French or Dutch collections and appears to be lost. The type was collected in Spain and the corresponding author has studied material from Spain as well as the the entire Mediterranean area where the species seems to be locally common. Based on this Enicospilus grandiflavus syn. nov. is a junior synonym of Enicospilus unicallosus .
