Genus Monalonion Herrich-Schaeffer View in CoL View at ENA
Monalonian Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850: 168. Type species: Monalonion parviventre Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850 . Monotypic.
Diagnosis. Elongate, shiny, smooth, and glabrous species. Head with a distinct neck; antennal segment II six times longer than segment I. Pronotum clearly narrowed anteriorly; embolium-corial and clavo-corial sutures without punctures. Scutellum smooth (without slender, erect process as in the Old World Helopeltis Signoret ); pronotum and hemelytra glabrous; apical angle of areole on membrane rounded.
Carvalho (1972) revised this genus. Only one species is known to occur in Minas Gerais.
