Type material. Holotype ♂ ( ZMMU), AZERBAIJAN: Shaki-Zagatala Region: Zagatala district, Zagatala State Nature Reserve , [41°48'N 46°37'E], 10.06.2003 (N. Snegovaya, H. Aliev). GoogleMaps
Etymology. This species is named after the late Soviet/Russian arachnologist Pyotr Mikhailovich Dunin (1952– 1998), in recognition of his significant contribution to the study of the Caucasian dysderids.
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to H. vagabunda Dunin, 1991 and H. mcheidzeae Dunin, 1992 , both known from southern macroslopes of the Caucasus Major. The male of the new species differs from that of H. vagabunda by the shape of tegulum (with straight anterior margin, vs. rounded), the embolus base encircled by a kind of membranous collar (vs. indistinct), the proximal part of embolus straight and sharply bent forming an acute angle (vs. not straight and roundly bent) (cf. Fig. 18D, E View FIGURE 18 and Dunin 1991b: fig. 4.1, 2). The male of H. dunini sp. n. can be distinguished from that of H. mcheidzeae by having an embolar collar with a triangular extension (vs. lacking), the presence of a tegular protrusion (vs. lacking), and also by straight proximal part of embolus (vs. roundly bent) (cf. Fig. 18D, E View FIGURE 18 and Dunin 1992a: figs 7, 8).
Description. Male. Habitus as in Fig. 14C View FIGURE 14 . Total length 3.85. Carapace 1.70 long, 1.35 wide. Eye sizes: AE 0.09, PME 0.08, PLE 0.08. Carapace, chelicerae, sternum, labium and maxillae light brown; carapace slightly lighter posteriorly. Legs yellowish brown. Abdomen beige, without any pattern. Spinnerets uniformly beige. Measurements of legs: I: 5.23 (1.34, 0.91, 1.34, 1.18, 0.46), II: 4.77 (1.31, 0.80, 1.17, 1.05, 0.44), III: 3.86 (1.09, 0.57, 0.80, 1.00, 0.40), IV: 5.53 (1.54, 0.76, 1.27, 1.52, 0.44). Spination: I: Fe: 3pl. II: Fe: 1pl. III: Fe: 2d, 2pl; Pa: 2pl; Ti: 1d, 3pl, 2rl, 4v; Mt: 3pl, 2rl, 4v. IV: Fe: 3d, 1pl; Ti: 2d, 1pl, 3rl, 6v; Mt: 2d, 4pl, 3rl, 4v.
Bulb as in Fig. 18D–F View FIGURE 18 ; tegulum as long as wide, with straight anterior margin and distinct protrusion, embolic base encircled by membranous collar with prolateral triangular extension; base of embolus straight, sharply bent in mid part forming acute angle at posterior edge.
Female. Unknown.
Comments. The two similar species occur in the same region of the Caucasus Major, and both are known based solely on the type material. The type locality of the new species is located almost midway between those of H. vagabunda and H. mcheidzeae .
Distribution. Known only from the type locality in Zagatala district, Azerbaijan ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 19 ).
