( Figs. 83 View FIGURE 83 and 84 View FIGURE 84 )
Type host: Remiz pendulinus (Linnaeus) ( Passeriformes : Remizidae ). Type locality: Poland.
Description. FEMALE (holotype). Total body length 500. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum punctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–8 striated chambers. Stylophore sparsely punctate, 150 long. Length of movable cheliceral digit 105. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield with concave anterior margin and weakly sclerotized in posterior part, bearing bases of setae ve, si and c1, apunctate. Length ratio of setae ve: si 1:1. Bases of setae se situated anterior to level of c1. Narrow hysteronotal shield, situated between bases of setae d1 and e2, not fused to pygidial shield, apunctate. Setae d1 situated half distance to d2 than to e2. Pygidial shield well sclerotized, sparsely punctate in posterior part, anterior margin indiscernible. Length ratio of setae f1: f2 1:3. Length ratio of aggenital setae ag1: ag2: ag3 2:1:2.3. Genital plate weakly sclerotized. Pseudanal setae ps1 and ps2 subequal in length. All coxal fields densely punctate. Setae 3c about twice as long as 3b. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 6 tines. Setae tc”III–IV 1.6 times longer than tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: ve 25, si 25, c1 250, c2 195, se 220, d1 115, d2 110, e2 120, f1 30, f2 90, h1 30, h2 330, ps1 and ps2 18, g2 35, 1a 100, 3a 50, ag1 100, ag2 50, ag3 115, tc’III–IV 35, tc”III–IV 55, 3b 30, 3c 65.
MALE. Total body length 350 in 1 paratype. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum and stylophore apunctate. Each medial branch of peritremes with 3 chambers, each lateral branch with 7–8 chambers. Length of stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 125 and 95 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield weakly sclerotized in posterior part, bearing bases of setae ve, si and c1. Bases of setae se situated distinctly anterior to level of c1. Hysteronotal shield large, not fused to pygidial shield, bearing bases of setae d1 and e2. Setae d1, d2 and e2 subequal in length. Small pygidial shield restricted to genito-anal region and bases of setae h2. Dorsal shields apunctate. Length ratio of setae f2: h2 1:4. Genital setae g1 situated anteriorly to level of setae g2. Both pairs of agenital setae subequal in length. All coxal fields sparsely punctate. Legs. Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 4 tines. Setae tc”III–IV twice the length of tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae: si 18, c1 65, c2 55, d1 37, d2 37, e2 35, f2 10, h2 40, ag1 34, ag2 30, tc’III–IV 15, tc”III–IV 30.

Type deposition. All material deposited in the AMU .
Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting quills of secondary feathers of Remiz pendulinus .
Distribution. Poland.
Etymology. The name remizus refers to the generic name of the host.
Diffrential diagnosis. Neoaulonastus remizus is morphologically similar to N. bisetatus . In females of both species, the hysteronotal shield is present; setae f2 are no more than 3 times longer than f1; each vertical branch of the peritremes has 7–8 chambers and aggenital setae ag1 are longer than ag2. This new species is distinguished from N. bisetatus , by the presence of the following characters: in females of N. remizus , the total body length is 500; setae f2 are 3 times longer than f1; the length ratio of setae ag1: ag2: ag3 is 2:1:2.3; in males, the total body length is 350; the hysteronotal shield is not fused to the pygidial shield. In females of N. bisetatus , the total body length is 590–615; setae f2 are 2.3 times longer than f1; the length ratio of setae ag1: ag2: ag3 is 1.3–1.4:1:1.5–1.8; in males, the total body length is 405–460 and the hysteronotal shield is fused to the pygidial shield.
